Possible Causes In the past 30 years, there has been a major shift in thought and conscienceness, and in my opinion, political correctness run amok. Our society has become soft, right and wrong are not clearly indentified. The many grey areas of choice our kids have is astonishing. Math is not even right or wrong. In some schools they actually grade on effort and attempt. I'm sorry, but 2+2=4 and anything else is wrong. They are being taught that there are no winners or losers, but that is not how the real world works. We cannot send mixed messages. Feminism isn't wrong, but teaching our boys feminin qualities is just not right. Teach them to respect feminin qualities but also teach them to be boys. Can you believe you will get suspended if you play cops and robbers, or cowboys and indians and pretend to shoot someone with your finger. Spanking is almost a capitol offense. The PC police are trying to turn our little boys into little girls. Little boys usually like to talk about smashing and crashing, blood and guts and shooting the bad guy. This is all normal behavior but they are told these things are not appropriate, stripping them of their masculine qualities. Unfortunately, trying to effeminate our boys is not the only problem, lets go on to exercise. When I was a kid, video games were new, pong was a big deal and quite boring, and there was T.V., but playing with your friends was much more important. I was never indoors, and if I was I was shooed outside. Remember all of those games like Kick the Can, 500, Ding Dong Ditch, War, and Smear the Queer. We were very active. Todays kids have Nintendo, Gameboy, computer games, MP3 players, and portable DVD players. There are a million cable channels and kids are never far from the fridge. They have also cut out gym class. When I am teaching kids and they start to fidget, I will have them do push-ups and squats, then I go back to teaching a much more receptive bunch of rats. Kids need exercise, the more the better. Being within arms reach of the fridge is a problem, not because of how much they are eating, but because of what they are eating. They quality of food has gone down dramatically in the past few decades. If our children stuffed themselves full of fruits and vegetables all day, their health would not be an issue, unfortunately that is not the case. The chemicals that are put in our food are disgusting. Start reading the ingredients, but beware. There are 10,000 ingredients that the FDA says do not need to be included on labels. Many ingredients are also allowed to be disguised as other things. I have seen first hand what happens when you change the diet and start a rigorous exercise program for a child with ADD/ADHD. They slowly change back to that normal wonderful child you once knew. You should always consult a doctor before trying anything I recommend. (Funny how everyone always says, "Consult your physician before starting any diet or exercise program." No one consults a doctor before going on a twinkie filled sedentary lifestyle.) These are just a few reasons why. We will go in more depth a little later on. |
