Alternative Therapies I am of a strong belief that if you follow these simple yet difficult steps, a very large percentage of ADD/ADHD would disappear. Simple because everyone can do it, hard because the majority of Americans are conditioned to do otherwise. The first steps need to do go hand in hand. The big three: I am very biased when it comes to what type of activity your rugrats should participate in. To me, Martial Arts are perfect (at American School of Martial Arts of course.) I have many years of teaching kids with ADD/ADHD under my belt. The exercises I give the children at my gym are just about perfect. I combine hard physical activity with a healthy dose of discipline, while I give them the confidence to speak in front of their peers. They learn how to control their actions as well as proper breathing techniques, which in my humble opinion, is not learned in other sports. In my specialized system of Blended Kenpo, they will get the full range of motion as well as functional strength of mind and body. The systems inside Blended Kenpo are Royce Gracie Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai kickboxing and boxing along with very smooth and fluid Kenpo techniques. To me this represents about half of what they need to become well, change of diet and limiting their TV time are split equally into quarters. The diet is not hard. Eat as many fruits and vegetables as your body can handle, buy organic if you can and if you can't, be sure to wash them. Cut out most of the dairy. Try to follow this simple rule: if it comes out of a box, can, or bag, do not eat it. Drink purified water. Install a reverse osmosis system in your home. It is well worth it. And eat lean meats. Turkey, fish, chicken. It's not hard, it just takes discipline. Last but not least, kill your television. Its nothing but hypnotic mind numbing garbage. Propaganda at its worst. Nazi Germany would be proud. It is poisoning our childrens minds and dumbing down society. One half hour per day and then turn it off. Throw your TV out the window and see you at the gym! |
